Sister of Mother Earth sprouted to existence a decade ago in an aspiring community herbalist’s kitchen. Unique fire cider blends are made with local and foraged ingredients to create ultimate immune boosting concoctions. Herbal infused honeys, wild medicine and food are crafted with support from like-minded farmers and growers from the mountains of Western North Carolina. Reintroducing folk remedies and native wild foods to the communities in the area is the core of Sister of Mother Earth’s mission and dream.
Botanist & Barrel crafts ciders, sours and dry fruit wines. Using techniques from wine-making, brewing, and craft cocktail we are constantly blurring the lines and re-thinking cider and fruit wine. We are also farmers raising organic blueberries on Cedar Grove Blueberry Farm, which is also home to our winery/cidery. We are hyper-local, sourcing ingredients whenever possible from within 120 miles of our farm winery. Even our labels and corks are made in NC.
How does one get beneficial bacteria into your pet’s gut? Easy: fermented vegetables—in an application we’ll call FUR-ments. I have created a new way to craft FUR-ments using the scraps of food one would either discard or compost. This is the ultimate in up-cycling food from your preferably organic and locally grown vegetables. This not only keeps these ‘wastes’ out of the landfill, but provides a nutrient-dense and fiber-rich fermented ‘vitamin pack' for one’s pets. My booth will be an ongoing demonstration of the age old technique of fermenting but with our beloved dogs' and cats' gut health in mind.

“The Buchi Mama’s” met through our kid’s homeschool co-op 9 years ago, we couldn’t yet imagine how our friendship, fermentation and the business which resulted would transform our lives. It started as a simple idea: brew and share kombucha with our community. We were born at the farmer’s market and grew up at a shared community kitchen in the mountains outside Asheville, NC. At the time, only 1 national brand of kombucha was on the shelf and people were thirsting for something that tasted more like home.
Buchi isn’t only 2 moms anymore -- along the way we’ve gathered a talented tribe of workers and growing a community who thirst for life and believe business can be a force for good in the world. Through grassroots support and the rapidly expanding capacity of good ideas to spread, we are now the largest kombucha brewer on the East Coast, and we now offer Kefir Soda and Shrub Soda addition to our family of kombucha.
This is the story of a kombucha brewery founded in a kitchen by two moms -- but it’s also part of a much larger, more fantastical tale. One that you’ve become a part of by drinking Buchi.

Miso Master® Organic Miso is made using ancient methods perfected in Japan hundreds of years ago. Our first Miso Masters lived, studied, and worked for one year in rural Japan with one of the few remaining families still using the ancient way of miso-making.

The resulting miso is a delicious and versatile live, unpasteurized food, full of enzymes that aid digestions and assimilation, living lactobacillus cultures, isoflavones, and antioxidants. Certified Organic, Kosher, & Gluten-Free as well as Non-GMO Verified.

Cathy Cleary co-founded the West End Bakery and Cafe in West Asheville, and published her first cookbook by the same name in 2014. After selling the business in 2015 she began work on her second book The Southern Harvest Cookbook, published in 2018. This book explores the multitude of ways to use fresh seasonal produce and shares gardening tips and stories in addition to recipes for preserving the harvest.
Half of the proceeds from both of her books go to regional nonprofits working on issues of food equity and sustainable agriculture.
Cathy began cooking and baking at the ripe age of 4, and under her father’s tutelage learned to scrape the mixing bowl clean and use up every scrap of food, never wasting a drop. He taught her scratch made techniques using garden grown vegetables for vinaigrettes, sauces, and salads. She employs these methods today in her professional and home cooking, and encourages others to do the same.
In additon to her work in the kitchen Cathy co-coordinates the Asheville Bread Festival, operates a small farm with her husband, and serves on boards and committes working to educate and facilitate food soverignty, food waste reduction, and food justice.

Sourdough, Gluten-Free, Fresh milled.
After baking sourdough bread together for years, my wife discovered she had to start a gluten-free diet to overcome significant health issues--so we simply stopped baking. After five years of eating mediocre commercial GF bread, we set out to create a sourdough bread that everyone could eat. With gluten-free grains like teff, buckwheat, and sorghum--fresh-milled and organic whenever possible--the result is fantastic sourdough bread and pizza.
Because we believe everyone should enjoy the best-tasting bread possible.
It's the simple thing
The Living Plant Alternative
Asheville Microgreens is dedicated to providing Asheville area restaurants, farmers markets and grocery stores with the highest quality living microgreens and edible flowers available.
My fiance Chris and I and broke ground on our 2 acre farm in the fall of 2016. We lived in a camper much of the time while we hand built our small house. Through the last couple of years we have slowly established a working homestead where we provide all of our yearly produce. For me, starting Asheville Microgreens was a dream come true. I knew I wanted to build my own farm back in 2014 when I started going to school for horticulture. After I graduated with a degree in horticulture I started work at a local farm as their new manager. Little did I know I would meet my fiancé here and start building a homestead at the adjoining property. Asheville Microgreens was opened in January 2019 in a 400 square foot greenhouse that the local community and friends help me build. It is now my goal to provide the Asheville area with the highest quality Microgreens and edible flowers.

WHO, WHAT, WHY
Grift Town Goods is a screenprinting company who cares about the truth. The artwork made and sold here is educational, cute, and comfy. Being that t-shirts are wearable billboards, I like to treat them with the weight of exposing people to what your beliefs are.
You like that print and what it means to you? Rock it...talk about it...
I also like to make work that supports local businesses and events. Adding my style to a custom piece of collaboration is a great opportunity for artistic outreach in the community.
I also like to involve people in the process. Live screen printing is a great way to involve an audience in the printing procedures. I can bring four 1-color designs to any event and make custom t-shirts right on the spot.

Phenomenal Fungi’s mission is to support better living through mushrooms, making health and wellbeing accessible to as many people as possible. We believe that mushrooms can help undo much of the damage done to our planet. We also believe they can undo some of the damage we've done to ourselves. Mushrooms are restorative and supportive and they taste pretty darn good too! We cultivate several species of mushrooms, including cordyceps, lion’s mane, oyster, and shiitake. We also produce double-extracted tinctures, made from cultivated or wild foraged fruit bodies, that maximize the delivery of the beneficial compounds found in mushrooms. Our mushrooms are organically produced, although not certified. We strive to use local waste streams, such as coffee grounds, wood shavings and other agricultural material. We are always researching new growing material and new ways to bring the benefits of mushrooms to the public.

Why "Yoga" Bucha?
Natural, sustainable, and local. The yogi is not only in tune with themselves, but with the world that surrounds us. The same concept of working with nature and staying in balance with the laws of the universe at large can be applied to every facet of life, so why not with what we consume too? And, that's exactly what we've done. Using local ingredients from sustainable sources, our Kombucha epitomizes that of a yogi, working in sync with the rhythms of nature. Our commitment to brewing small batches and ensuring mother nature has enough time to replenish her fruits further allows us to maintain our goal of sustainability.
Since 2014, we have brewed countless batches of homemade kombucha in order to find the perfect combination of flavors. What makes our recipes unique is the balance of spice and sweetness, combined with our organic ingredients. Something about the water sprung directly from the blue ridge mountains is the final key flavor that gives our tea the fresh and natural feel that the surrounding environment also provides.
Now, we are ready to share our family recipe with the world. In addition to our tea, we offer workshops and homebrew kits for you to be able to start brewing yourself! Workshops can be requested for private parties in addition to our public offerings, see our workshop calendar for further details.
