Reintroducing folk remedies and native wild foods to the communities in the area is the core of Sister of Mother Earth’s mission and dream.
Botanist & Barrel crafts ciders, sours and dry fruit wines. Using techniques from wine-making, brewing, and craft cocktail we are constantly blurring the lines and re-thinking cider and fruit wine. Darë Vegan Cheese (pronounced “Dairy”) is a dairy-free cheese company with feet planted squarely in the cheesemaking tradition. Sans the animal products, of course. With roots in North Carolina and a culinary approach based in an age-old craft, founder Gwendolyn Dare Hageman has reimagined a beloved food and made it, well, better.
Using a well-loved culture (fermentation rules!) and a cashew base, Gwendolyn and her dedicated team make brie, gouda, melty mozzarella and cream cheese with science, craft, and a dash of culinary wizardry.
Darë Vegan Cheese is small-batch and handmade, focusing on a small list of whole ingredients for plant-based cheese that tastes just like cheese. We like to think our thoughtful process creates an irresistible product that lives up to the hype. And we’ll bet you do too.
Highest quality raw cacao treats, vegan foods made with every effort to be gluten free, organic when possible, non-GMO, low glycemic. Coconut nectar & stevia are the main sweeteners, sometimes maple syrup. I make the ingredients (milks, flours) before I create the recipes! I offer a tooth serum, herb-seaweed seasoning, recipe cards, prints, paintings, notecards & classes in the Western North Carolina area.
We want to welcome Wild Weeds Farm Heather Mikus, aka rocking farmer mama, to the festival this year. She’ll be bringing her delicious #chevre and goat milk soap.Stop by her booth to try her cheese, you will not be disappointed
Our tempeh is made with regionally-sourced, non-GMO beans, fermented by Rhizopus oligosporus (a mushroom culture) to form a nutrient-dense protein packed with flavor and a bold texture.
The flavor and texture of By The Brook Tempeh is completely unlike that of commercial tempeh (which is typically made from pasteurized soybeans, highly processed, and shipped hundreds to thousands of miles).
We make our tempeh fresh from various legumes and grains, which are inoculated with a high quality spore, resulting in a highly digestible, nutritious option for your personal health. We stand behind community health, too, sourcing regional ingredients and distributing exclusively to our local community.
Hi! I'm Kat, and this is my business.
I make concentrated mixers in an homage to both herbal and European traditions of bitters.
I’ve been mixing "potions" in my backyard and fermenting them since I could walk. As a kid, I was constantly in the kitchen... baking, experimenting, and blending flavors. These days, I just think of it as "kitchen witchen."
I grew up hiking in the mountains and am from the Western NC region... Thus I have a deep passion for seeing our beautiful mountains get cared for and treasured.
Native plants are a special favorite- identifying, sustainable foraging, growing and processing. I began working with herbs through an elder mentor in my late teens, and followed that up with a Bachelors of Science in Natural Health. I was a clinical herbalist for many years, also co-owning and teaching at a respected herb school here in WNC and all over the southeast.
Herbalism and plants have been a constant in my life for the past 20 years.
We are located in the beautiful mountains of North Carolina. We have a small farm where we organically grow (not certified) the food that we eat, as well as some of the herbs and spices that go into our products. Our products are lovingly created by Sarah Wickers, owner of Well Seasoned Table. Each and every one is handcrafted to bring out the extraordinary in all that you cook or bake. We are foodies at heart. Which means that we are constantly creating new culinary treats with our handcrafted products.
So Delicious. So Healthy.
Our animals graze freely on lush grasses, root for grubs and seeds in the soil, and peck and scratch as nature intended. These activities lead to strong bodies, lots of blood flow, and healthy joints, which means superior aroma and flavor in our meat products. Grassfed meat is naturally lean and is high in heart-healthy omega-3 fatty acids, conjugated linoleic acid, antioxidants, and beneficial vitamins.
Humanely-Pasture-Raised.
We believe that allowing our animals to express their natural tendencies fosters a full circle of well-being, not only for the livestock, but also for the soil, our farmers, and our customers. This is why our animals roam freely on pastures that provide space for them to feed, forage, root, and play. We practice low stress handling throughout the animal life cycle and strive to maintain abundance and diversity in the farm ecosystem, which allows each animal to thrive.
Miso Master® Organic Miso is made using ancient methods perfected in Japan hundreds of years ago. Our first Miso Masters lived, studied, and worked for one year in rural Japan with one of the few remaining families still using the ancient way of miso-making.
We still use those methods today and that means hand-crafted koji (the culturing agent), and natural aging at ambient temperatures without artificial temperature control.
The resulting miso is a delicious and versatile live, unpasteurized food, full of enzymes that aid digestions and assimilation, living lactobacillus cultures, isoflavones, and antioxidants. Certified Organic, Kosher, & Gluten-Free as well as Non-GMO Verified.

We raise sheep for their fine meat and wool, but most importantly for the magical transformation that ruminants can have on the landscape. Through intensive pasture management, they are turning our rocky hillside into lush pastures that hold and build soil, repairing the damage done by soil erosion.
Though they seem small, their impact is great, and their gifts are many. We shear our breeding flock twice a year for wool, and use everything from those that we butcher, including naturally tanning the sheepskins with fat and smoke.
With over half our acreage in hardwood forest, we harvest select trees for green woodworking, winter heat, and to keep our forest productive. Sweet birch, cherry, tulip poplar, maple, black walnut, hickory and apple are just some of the species that get transformed into spoons, bowls, and more.
I help my customers bring herbal remedies into their everyday lives with high-quality handcrafted body care products. The heart of my products are my potent herb-infused oils, which are made in small batches with simple organic ingredients and are free of any added colorants, fragrances, or essential oils.

FREAKING KIMCHI TACOS
Vannah is a first generation young farmer who became interested in regenerative agriculture at the age of 17. Forgoing a traditional college education, at 18 she began traveling to different regions across US, and internationally. She emphasized working on farms in a variety of climates, to better understand strategies of growing food amidst climate change. Working on farms in the desert, high elevation, tropics, ect. taught her about low input system design, biological synergies, and growing food in an age of uncertainty. After years of intensive hands on farm experience and travel, she is now applying these skills to her own project, Encompass Farm.
Vannah cultivates half a dozen gardens through her affiliated program, Yards that Yield, on occupied Cherokee land in Black Mountain North Carolina.
A Permaculture Designer, Vannah offers her greatest work - Consulting Services - to home gardeners and off grid homesteaders, alike.

Rayburn Farms story began at North Carolina A & T State University where Lauren and Michael first meet. Lauren was studying Environmental Science and Michael Environmental Horticulture.
Long story short... they graduated. The big question lay before them: "What do we grow?"
After trying lots of different crops, they began stumbling over a trend in the local brewery scene in Asheville. A lot of brewers were playing around with different herbs in their beers -- and before they knew it, Rayburn Farms became the Brewers' Farm, growing everything from pumpkins to 6 different flavors of basil to ginger and mints. Today, Rayburn Farms is still growing for many breweries in Western NC, and they've also added some tea companies, ice cream makers, and craft soda producers.
In 2021 They began experimenting with making some new products that they could add to the website. After many tests they landed on Infused Sugars and Hot Cocoa mixes.
